We have an exciting opportunity to become part of our expanding Derby and Derbyshire Mental Health Support Teams (MHSTs).Designed to ensure CYP access the right help, at the right time, in the right setting. The MHST teams will remove duplication and avoid CYP/families being bounced in-between services.

Main duties of the job

You will have at least 1 years post qualification experience working therapeutically within a CYP mental health setting. In the role of Trainee Supervising Practitioner, you would be delivering training, evidenced based interventions and consultation to children, young people, families and educational staff.

You will also be supported by the service to learn and develop new skills in delivering CBT informed supervision. Once you have reached the required minimum competencies defined by HEE you will be required to undertake a PG Certificate in Clinical Supervision. On acceptance on to the training programme the post holder will progress to Band F which currently attracts a salary range of 35,665 - 43,603

You will also be willing to undertake further training as required by the service.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • Core professional and/or clinical qualification e.g. EMHP, CWP, PMHW, nursing with specialism in mental health or learning disability nursing, Occupational Therapy, Social Work
  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • Post Graduate Certificate in Supervision (EMHP supervisor course)
  • or
  • Two years post qualification experience of working therapeutically with children and young people and willingness to undertake PG Cert if requiredManagement / supervision training
  • Therapeutic post graduate qualification ( ideally in low intensity CBT)
  • Post Graduate qualification in a relevant discipline
  • Mentorship qualification

Desirable

  • Management / supervision training

Experience

Essential

  • Two years post qualification experience of working therapeutically with children and young people e.g., as an EMHP/CYP-IAPT practitioner
  • Experience of line management and/or delivery of clinical supervision
  • Experience of delivering CBT informed supervision, ideally of practice related to education settings
  • Experience of working in a community and/or educational
  • environment
  • Evidence of clinical development in practice
  • Experience of effective engagement with CYPF
  • Risk assessment and management in the delivery of clinical services (including safeguarding)
