We are currently looking for multiple full-time MRI Radiographers (Medical Imaging Level 4) to join the dynamic team at Canberra Hospital, Australia for a 12-month contract with possible extension.
This MRI level 4 Radiographer position will need to perform all aspects of MRI while always observing departmental protocols and MRI Safety. The position will participate in more complex procedures in MRI including interoperative MRI. In addition to the provision of excellent patient care, the position contributes to scheduling and throughput of patients, as well as immediate interactions with students and staff across the multidisciplinary team.
The position is required to support the Medical Imaging Department in the provision of a 24 hour, 7 days a week service. This role may include shift work, overtime and on-call duties outside normal working hours when required.
Under limited direction of the MRI Modality Manager, you will:
- Provide leadership, management, supervision and clinical services within the MRI Modality in the Medical Imaging Department at Canberra Hospital
- Exercise independent professional judgement to perform and train other staff in routine and advanced MRI procedures in a digital environment. Assist with the more complex procedures as required.
- Participate in/Deliver MRI Safety training programs.
- Contribute to policy and procedure development applicable to professional practice.
- Report equipment failures, maintain records of service history, and maintain appropriate records of procedures.
- Contribute to the recruitment, performance management and staff development of Health Professionals within the MRI Modality.
- Maintain a high standard of clinical practice and professional leadership by participating in ongoing professional and organisational education and training, quality assurance, and research.
- Undertake other duties appropriate to this level of classification which contribute to the operation of the organisation.
