Suitable for 3rd year Student Midwives due to qualify in 2023.

Join us on our improvement journey in Northern Lincolnshire and Goole. This preceptorship position will offer the opportunity to consolidate your midwifery skills and knowledge as a rotational midwife in a forward looking service with staff that have the enthusiasm and passion to improve the care of our women and their families.

We have an exciting opportunity for newly registered midwives to join our experienced maternity workforce and contribute to making us the best that we can be.

We are looking for an individual who has the values of our trust Kindness, Courage, and Respect, at the heart of the care they provide. The successful candidate must be passionate, kind, considerate and above all uphold the standards of the NMC in all aspects of their profession.

Main duties of the job

Assesses, develops, implements and evaluates programmes of care in a range of environments, without supervision.

Once preceptorship period is complete, supports, supervises and teaches less experienced staff on the ward/team relevant clinical and non-clinical procedures and practices.

Works autonomously within the department/team within Trust guidelines and sphere of professional practice.

Qualifications

Essential

  • oRegistered Midwife eligible to be live on the register (including 3rd year students due to qualify)
  • oDegree in/working towards degree in Midwifery

Desirable

  • oNIPT trained
  • oSupervisor and assessor trained SSSA or equivalent

Experience

Essential

  • oUp to date mandatory training in fire, infection control, basic life support and moving and handling

Desirable

  • oAbility to travel between care settings
  • oExperience of critiquing clinical evidence
  • oClinical audit skills
  • oExperience of managing a team /area
  • oComplaints training
  • oLeadership training
  • oTraining in the administration of blood
