Job summary
Due to retirement, we have a vacancy for a 6 session GP Partner to
join our team. Castlehead Medical Centre is the only medical centre in the
market town of Keswick in the Lake District National Park. Keswick provides
everything you need for a fantastic place to live and work.
We offer a BMA modelcontract, 15 min routine face-to-face
appointments, 12 patients per routine session, with fair allocation of work
across all the GP team. Own patient list to provide job satisfaction and
continuity for patients. We will encourage you to develop clinical and non-clinical
special interests, and will offer a Partnership position with low buy-in costs
to the right person. We have protected daily meeting time and consider
ourselves a friendly, approachable and sociable bunch!
We have a mixture of routine, urgent, telephone and triage
appointments daily, with clinics modified to suit individual requirements where
possible. Participation in Extended Access work on Tuesday evenings and
weekends (ten per year) is not essential.

Main duties of the job
- All duties
required of a GP governed by GMS contract
- Contribute and
comply with all objectives of GMS & Enhanced Service contracts
- Effective
data input & coding onto EMIS-X clinical system
- Participate
in clinical audits & significant event analyses
- Take an
active role in practice & MDT meetings
- Provide high
quality teaching and support to GP Trainees and other staff in training
- Be
responsible for own professional development and engage fully in appraisals
- Maintain
confidentiality within the practice that protects patients, staff and all allied
health professionals
- Clinical
cover for UTC and ward at local community hospital as per rota
- Support and
adhere to practice health & safety policies and legislation
- Ensure that
all work is CQC compliant

Complete medical and other reports for
patients registered with the Practice
- Take on any
lead responsibilities in the practice for GMS, QOF, QIS and enhanced services
as agreed within the partnership
- Contribute to
the management & development of the practice
- Work closely
with Finance, HR, Operations, Dispensary & Nursing managers to facilitate
safe, efficient, high quality, & effective Business Management
- Liaise & attend Primary Care Network meetings as and when required
- Participate
in regular monthly & ad-hoc Partnership Meetings as required
- Participate
in nursing staff clinical appraisals
- Review & develop clinical practice protocols and procedures
- Work in
accordance of the Partnership Agreement
