We are looking to recruit a reliable, enthusiastic and proactive Data Manager to work as part of the breast team. Prospective candidates must have an in depth knowledge of processing and auditing data to be submitted in line with National and local target deadlines. This role requires good communication, organisational and workload prioritisation skills as well as advanced knowledge in Excel.
The post holder will work under the direction of the Deputy Operations Manager to collect, analyse, format and report National Screening statistical data to both internal and external agencies, ensuring that targets are met and to support our forward thinking Breast Care Team.
The post holder will require a high standard of English language.
The post is full time - 37.5 hrs, Monday - Friday, however the role may require some flexibility to support Service needs.

Main duties of the job
The Data Manager is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining an effective data management system to support and enable the Operations Manager and Programme Manager to monitor the performance of the City, Sandwell and Walsall NHS Breast Screening and Symptomatic Breast Service. The post holder will be required to liaise with external agencies in order to provide statistical data in a timely manner. This includes the input, audit, extract, analysis and production of data in an appropriate format, compliant with the Trust's policy on confidentiality and the Data Protection Act.

Essential
- Maths & English GCSE or equivalent C grade or above
- NVQ3 in Health Records and Information Management or Equivalent
Desirable
- RSA II or equivalent in typing/word processing
Experience
Essential
- Previous clerical experience
- IT skills - Intermediate level IT Skills - Intermediate level, knowledge of Microsoft Office, including word, excel, databases, intranet and internet.
- Previous experience of data extraction and validation and complex data analysis
- Previous experience of presenting information clearly and accurately in a range of formats
- Familiarity with the concepts of data protection and patient confidentiality
- Administrative Experience of working within the NHS
Desirable
- Experience of working within the NHS Breast Screening Service
