Job summary

To work as a fully integrated member of the multi-disciplinary team in providing a safe and appropriate environment for patients, families and staff.

To maintain an excellent standard of cleanliness and tidiness within the department environment, to ensure Infection Control cleaning is maintained, in partnership with the Facilities Team.

To maintain stores and adequate stock levels within the recovery environment.

To support under direction, activity to enable patient flow and capacity.

To work a flexible working pattern to meet service need.

Main duties of the job

  • Effective written and verbal communication is maintained with all members of the department team.
  • To assist in allowing entry to visitors, if appropriate, ensuring safety and security.
  • To work with the trust values; ambitious, brave and compassionate.
  • To work as part of the department team to ensure that an excellent standard of cleanliness and tidiness is maintained. This includes clinical areas, all medical equipment and additional equipment appropriate to the clinical place of work and as included in the ward cleaning schedules and room cleaning job plan.
  • To maintain open pathways of communication with facilities assistants.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Level 2 or GSCE C grade or above in Maths and English Language or Assessment of equivalent level through achieving required pass mark of numeracy and literacy test

Desirable

  • Level 2 qualification in health related subject

Knowledge and Nature of experience

  • Experience working with the public
  • Communication/Relationship skills: Good command of the English language To be empathetic to staff and families Evidence of being highly motivated and enthusiastic
