Job summary

Glemsford Surgery is looking for a salaried GP to join their busy practice, for up to 3 sessions per week, covering Tuesdays and Fridays but this is negotiable in line with surgery requirements.

We are looking for a GP whose main focus will be general practice but we can also support the right candidate to establish a special interest in hospital medicine, leadership or research to suit personal or career needs. There is an optional opportunity of developing in a clinical specialty at West Suffolk Hospital and the possibility to become a partner, both can be further discussed at interview. Glemsford Surgery integrated with West Suffolk Foundation Trust (WSFT) to provide improved healthcare services for patients in and around the village of Glemsford.

Virtual integration (VI) is an innovative venture supported by the West Suffolk Clinical Commissioning Group and local alliance which provides support to the GPs and surgery staff from the local acute hospital trust and community services. We believe clinicians working together are in a better position to deliver effective, high quality clinical careallowing staff access to services such as occupational health, MSK physiotherapist and staff wellbeing services.

Glemsford village is within easy reach of Cambridge (30 miles), Ipswich (25 miles), Bury St Edmunds (12 miles) and Sudbury (6 miles) and the surgery benefits from a co-located but independently managed pharmacy.

Glemsford Surgery is:

a friendly and committed clinical team of 4 GPs already in post (7 sessions, 6 sessions, 6 sessions, 6 sessions cover), one trainee nurse practitioner, two practice nurses, PCN clinical pharmacist, OT first practitioner (focused on mental health) and two HCAs.
a GMS practice with 4700 patients.
a well established and effective administration and management team.
a respectable QOF achiever with good patient survey results.
a SystmOne practice.

Qualifications

Essential

Fully qualified GP with GMC registration.
Annual appraisal and revalidation (when appropriate).
Be on the NHSE medical performers list.
Expressions of interest are also welcomed from candidates who are due to receive CCT and be on Performers list within the next 3 months.
