Applications are invited for Audiologists to join our dynamic and progressive Audiology team
We are looking for a professional educated to degree level with an audiology qualification. The successful applicants will support delivery of our Audiology service.
The successful applicant will join a multidisciplinary team of extended scope Audiologists, Clinical Scientists, Newborn Hearing Screeners, clinical nurse specialists, voice therapists and ENT specialists to provide a full range of specialist-level services to the local population of approximately 360,000.
Main duties of the job
The department, which is accredited under the Improving Quality in Physiological Measurement Services (IQIPS) programme to provide the full scope of routine and complex paediatric and adult services, is delivered by a team of fourteen highly qualified and experienced Audiology practitioners. The dedicated team provides the highest standards of care and, as an accredited training centre, enjoy strong links with higher education providers and active participation in the South West London Clinical Networks.
In order to be considered for these posts you should be registered with (or eligible to be registered with) the Academy for Healthcare Science (formerly RCCP) and be eligible to work in the U.K. (i.e. Working holiday Visa, EU passport). Support will be given to ensure that the successful candidates continue their professional development
The successful applicant will also be:
- Familiar with service provision in the UK and current developments and issues
- Experienced working at a high level of autonomy and operate effectively within a team
- Able to demonstrate a flexible, adaptable approach and an ability to exercise good judgement based on up-to-date knowledge and experience

Qualifications
Essential
- Bachelor degree in Audiology or equivalent knowledge base acquired through in-depth service experience.
Desirable
- Completion of ERA and balance course / Other study in relevant subject
Experience
Essential
- Practical experience undertaking hearing assessments and hearing aid fitting to adults.
- Minimum 1 year experience working in NHS acute/community setting
- Experience of multi-agency working
Desirable
- Practical experience supporting volunteer support service
Knowledge
Essential
- Ability to organise/coordinate care within community and acute care settings
- Understanding of national care pathways
Desirable
- IT and Presentation Skills
