Experienced or newly qualified Registered Nurse for surgical environment(s) based at Pontefract Hospital.
Main duties of the job
We
are looking for a professional, enthusiastic, well-motivated registered nurse
to join our professional and friendly team. The
successful candidate(s) will have the opportunity to work within the division
of surgery, which will involve participating in both pre and post operative
care, including responsibility for admitting and discharging patients with support
from the Advanced Clinical Practitioner.
The
role will involve delivering care for a mixture of both inpatients and day case
patients undergoing a wide variety of planned surgery including Orthopaedic, Urology,
general surgery, and dental specialities.
The
service is currently on a journey to becoming an Orthopaedic Centre of
Excellence. In addition, the department also has a Level one facility that
cares for patients requiring a higher level of observation following major
surgery. This offers additional opportunities to develop your skills.
The
team operate a 7-day working model and shifts include both nights and days, weekends,
and bank holidays.
The
successful candidatewill also work closely with the multi-disciplinary
team in providing holistic care to our patients.

care delivered with a senior member of the team.

professional approach to maximise the patients health and independence
utilising resources appropriately.
Maintaining up to date
knowledge of current nursing issues/practices.
Working as a
registered nurse, without direct supervision in the absence of the Ward Sister
where necessary.
