Job summary
We are looking to appoint an ST Higher doctor in Hepatology at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust. This post holder will work within the Hepatology team to provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient management for a specialist Hepatology service. The post will be ideally suited to a doctor with at least 2 years' experience that has completed Foundation and IMT Programme competencies and is now looking to gain knowledge and experience in Hepatology to support a future application for higher specialist training, whilst completing part 1 or 2 MRCP, or an applicant with MRCP part 2 seeking to gain specialty experience in Hepatology prior to higher medical training.
Although largely a ward-based role, the successful applicant will be permitted scope to develop according to the individual's training requirements, equivalent to a Registrar, including attending consultant led outpatient clinics, and contributing to departmental audit, service improvement projects and clinical governance.
Main duties of the job
The Hepatology team are looking for an individual to join the team and work closely with the clinical team across Shipley ward. Shipley ward consists of 20 Hepatology beds and consultant delivered ward rounds are conducted daily. The post holder will also be required to contribute to weekend Shipley ward cover on a rota basis.
