Job summary

The University Hospital Dorset maternity service delivers approximately 4000 births a year with expanding range of high-risk obstetric services. We are looking a for an enthusiastic consultant obstetrician to join our team to provide a high-quality maternal medicine service and lead our multi-disciplinary team training to ensure we can comply with maternity incentive scheme.

This is a new post that was created on the back of the BC

The successful candidate will participate in the on-call rota. The above timetable will evolve and change through the job planning process to meet the changing needs of the service requirements for the department

Qualifications

Essential

  • oGMC Registration oMRCOG oCCT in O&G oAdvanced labour ward practice, maternal medicine, or high risk antenatal ATSM, CCT, oDiploma or Masters in Education

Desirable

  • oSubspecialty training, MD oIntermediate Obstetric USS oCompliant with all Mandatory Training

Experience

Essential

  • oClinical training and experience in general obstetrics equivalent to that required for a UK CCST oAbility to offer acute O&G care as the resident / non-resident O&G Consultant oteaching experience

Desirable

  • oEvidence of involvement in audit & research projects oEvidence of involvement in risk management oQuality Improvement projects

Knowledge

Essential

  • oGood communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. oAbility to prioritise workload & use initiative. oAbility to know own limitations & when to seek advice. oMeet the requirements of the GMC's Good Medical Practice.vironment Ability to manage own time and continuing professional development

Desirable
