The medical Infusions Unit is a fast paced Nurse Led Outpatient Department. The team is responsible for delivering a variety of treatments to patients with chronic health conditions. The team works closely alongside a variety of speciality services including haematology, rheumatology, neurology and gastroenterology.
The department operates Monday - Friday and is currently based on the Dewsbury Hospital Site however staff are required to work across all of the MYTT sites as per service needs
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for completing the assessment, treatment and monitoring of the day case patients ensuring that the patient is assessed as clinically safe to receive treatment inline with the unit protocols
With the support of the experienced team you will undertake phlebotomy and cannulation, deliver IV treatments and blood products as well as undertaking venesections
You will have the ability to recognise the deteriorating patient and escalate as necessary
You will be supported with the necessary training to enable you to become competent to deliver all elements of the role
You will need to be able to communicate effectively with both patients and clinical colleagues and possess excellent organisational skills and also have the ability to prioritise work loads, manage time effectively and work well in a busy environment.
You will also be motivated to provide an excellent patient experience and always strive to provide quality care to our patients.
