We are in a very fortunate position to be expanding our therapy team offer here at Autism Unlimited in which we are looking to appoint a Speech and Language Therapist to join us on our exciting developments!
The Speech and Language Therapy team is part of a multidisciplinary in-house therapy team including other Psychotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Behaviour Specialists which are overseen by the Head of Therapy. The Therapy Team work with the autistic people we support including children and young people here at Portfield School. We offer a collaborative and integrated approach to therapeutic input, working closely with our colleagues who know the individual in order to provide a holistic and person-centred experience.
This role could be full or part time term time or 52 weeks per year!
Main duties of the job
A Speech and Language Therapist day would include:
- Supporting with the creative and innovative SALT therapy using a positive behaviour modelpredominantlywithin Portfield School.
- Evaluating and planning best practice methods to improve therapy tools
- Working collaboratively within the therapy team including a designated speech and therapy team of four to ensure all plans are focused on a person centred approach and ensuring the people we support are top priority
- Participating self reflective practice and using this as a continuous personal development guide

Essential
- Grade A- C in Maths, English
- MSC in Speech and language therapy degree
Desirable
- Our role would be ideal to a newly qualified SALT looking to gain experience working with autism.
- Equally this role could well appeal to someone looking for a change in role and outside of NHS.
