As part of the development of Stroke services at MTW we are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic and motivated Dietitian with an interest in Stroke to join the Dietetic Team at Maidstone & Tunbridge Wells Trust so come and work for us! The post will be based at the Maidstone Hospital working with other members of the MDT on the development and delivery of a specialist Stroke dietetic service. You will be supported to develop your skills with funded courses and shadowing opportunities.

Band 5 development role will be considered.

Main duties of the job

This post that offers a unique challenge for a highly motivateddietitian with and interest in Stroke, excellent communication skills and passion to support innovative service development at our hospitals.

The successful candidate will work with the clinical lead to provide specialist dietetic input to Stroke service and support the acute team.

This role will provide you with excellent and supported professional and personal development. You will have opportunities to be involved with dietetic student placements, multidisciplinary team nutrition training, audit, research and the development of the MTW dietetic service and associated treatment pathways.

Person Specification

Experience

Essential

  • Post graduate experience in clinical dietetics
  • Experience of supporting clinical audit
  • Experience of multidisciplinary team working
  • Knowledge of professional code of conduct and guidance issued by your professional body and adherence to these.
  • Evidence of CPD in practice

Desirable

  • Experience of facilitating patient group sessions
  • Knowledge of National guidelines relating to obesity and bariatric surgery e.g. NICE, BOMSS
  • Knowledge of the types of bariatric surgery and the dietetic implications of these
  • Previous experience working in the nutritional management of patients with morbid obesity and bariatric surgery
  • Experience in the clinical supervision of students

  • Degree in Nutrition & Dietetics
  • HCPC registration
  • BDA Membership

  • Recognised post graduate course in obesity management
  • Membership of specialist group.
