ITU CLINICAL FELLOW

Applications are invited for enthusiastic Clinical Fellows in Intensive Care to join our department to work across Hillingdon and Mount Vernon Hospitals. Applicants should have at least 2 years post registration experience with preferably 3 months experience in ITU and some airway skills.

Main duties of the job

The duties will include 1 in 8 resident on call. These posts are to cover intensive care at the Hillingdon site.

The department runs a busy structured training programme and appointees are encouraged to take part in this. The hospital has the facility of an excellent Post Graduate Department.

We expect the appointees to be able to work flexibly with colleagues and with changing service requirements. The department consists of 31 Consultants, 12 Speciality Doctors, 9 Clinical Fellows and 18 Trainees.

The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides its services across two sites at Hillingdon and Mount Vernon Hospitals. Hillingdon Hospital functions as a District General Hospital, providing emergency and elective services whilst Mount Vernon Hospital functions as an elective unit.The Hillingdon Hospital is situated in Uxbridge in the London Borough of Hillingdon. It is a busy district general hospital with about 3,300 employees and over 400 beds.

The anaesthetic and intensive care department has a very friendly and supportive environment, we encourage close team working and communication in a positive and nurturing atmosphere.

For successful overseas applicants there will be extra support and time to help adjust to the unfamiliar working environment.
