We are excited to be able to offer a new role within our newly established and supportive Learning disability and Neuro Team.

We are looking for a Nurse or Occupational Therapist who can work independently and as part of a team; is highly motivated, and keen to work with this client group. We value the contribution of others and recognise the benefit of having a variety of clinical experience.

You will be involved in the assessment and review of children and young people with a possible or existing ADHD diagnosis, including those transitioning from other Services.

You will be well supported and will learn and develop through supervised practice and regular multi-disciplinary team meetings.

Main duties of the job

To work within a multidisciplinary team offering full comprehensive assessments and interventions in a range of settings, and evaluate the mental health care to children, young people, and their families in line with local and national guidelines. Supporting and delivering interventions and co-ordinating the care of children and young people with attention deficit hyperactivity disorders (ADHD), alongside and other possible mental health issues.

Job responsibilities

  • To provide full clinical assessments of children, young people and their families referred to the service in a variety of setting and situations. You may be required to work weekends and evenings.
  • To hold a clinical caseload, comprising of assessments and ongoing direct therapeutic interventions to children, young people with ADHD and other presentations and their parents/ cares. This will include regular liaison and collaborative working with other agencies i.e., social services and education.
  • To provide group work and 1-1 interventions with parents or cares.
  • Work alongside the ADHD Nurse and Assistant Practitioners in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of children and young people with ADHD and or other co-morbid presentations.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Registered professional qualification I.e., RMN, Occupational Therapists, Registered Children's Nurse

Desirable

  • Post registration qualification in child & adolescent mental health or qualification in therapeutic approaches with children, young people, parents or carers.

Experience

Essential

  • Relevant experience of working within children, young people, and families.
  • Evidence of experience working in a community setting as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Evidence of carrying out comprehensive assessments and care planning.
  • Evidence of collaborative working with other services.
