Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated finance professional with knowledge and experience over a range of subject areas supporting the financial sustainability and performance reporting requirements within the organisation.

We are looking for someone who can make a difference and drive service improvement - a person with the skills to actively engage with stakeholders both internal and external on a wide financial agenda.

This role will lead on the on the construction of financial planning and analysis. The post holder will also support the Associate Director of Finance and Senior Team in development of the organisations financial strategy, annual departmental plan and (Integrated Medium Term Plan). The post holder will have the key responsibility for providing vision and leadership in the development and implementation of the organisations forecasting and financial planning and analysis processes.

Applicants should be CCAB qualified with significant post qualification experience operating at a senior level within a Finance department.

Main duties of the job

  • Responsible for the managing the production of monthly finance reports, including performance against delegated budget and analysis and reports on expenditure variances
  • Monitor achievement against the DHCW overall Financial plan on a timely basis by producing reports from the finance ledger and undertaking detailed analysis
  • Responsible for the calculation of monthly accruals and prepayments where required for ledger input and reporting purposes
  • Responsible for identifying areas of possible budgetary savings
  • Responsible for all complex budget adjustments to the Finance Ledger in line with the Financial Plan
  • Responsible for providing all costing analysis for Business Cases

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
  • CCAB ( ACCA,CIMA, CIPFA) part qualified or AAT Membership ( NVQ 5)
  • Evidence of post graduate development - education and/or training and CPD or equivalent experience

  • Experience of working with highly complex and sensitive information
