Job summary

Youll join our Podiatry Service, which is delivered by Suffolk GP Federation. We are a not-for-profit, community interest company and our main purpose is to support Primary Care across Suffolk, including support with working collaboratively and at scale. We also deliver a portfolio of NHS services across Suffolk and North East Essex, including Podiatry, Ultrasound, Diabetes, as well as Urgent Care Services including the Out of Hours face-to-face Service in Suffolk.

We will work alongside the successful candidate to ensure they are sufficiently inducted and trained; there will be regular constructive supervision in place. It is important to us that you feel safe and supported in the role.

  • You will need to be a HPCP registered Podiatrist.
  • You will need to have regular access to transport in order to support all of the locations the service covers.

Main duties of the job

Band 6 Podiatrist

We are recruiting! We are looking for a HPCP registered Podiatrist to join our supportive and innovative team.

What is the role?

  • Youll assess and treat a diverse range of patients who may have complex needs and who are at high risk of lower limb complications.
  • You will be working with the team to manage a caseload, and create individualised treatment plans for each patient.
  • Youll also have the opportunity to take part in nail surgery clinics.

Contract type:

This is a 12-month fixed term contract, with the possibility of being made permanent. We are looking for someone to work with us Monday Friday, 37.5 hours a week, however will also consider part time applications.

Reports to: B7 Podiatrist/Podiatry Team Leader/Clinical Specialist

Location: Suffolk and South Norfolk

Job Purpose

Providing a responsive podiatry service to patients within the area covered by the organisation.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  • To promote the development of good team-working relationships and professional practice with all colleagues and customers, and to deliver high quality clinical care.
  • The post-holder will be responsible for organising and maintaining their own caseload and will demonstrate good use of reflective practice in the care of patients as well as utilising service guidelines and evidence-based care models.
  • The post holder will need to be well motivated, flexible, and have good clinical, communication and team working skills.
  • The post-holder must be a car driver prepared to work in a variety of settings including patients homes and specialist clinics.
  • To carry out clinical work whilst continually developing skills through learning via clinical supervision and mentoring, CPD, and private study.
  • The post-holder will have a weekly programme arranged for him/her and from time to time may be required to work at alternative locations to cover staff vacancies/sickness or changes in line with changes in service demand.
  • The post-holder may be required to act in a supervisory capacity to administration staff, podiatry assistants and students as required.
  • The post-holder will be required to deliver educational presentations to service stakeholders as required.

Qualifications & Training

Essential

  • Current HCPC registration
  • Willingness to undertake further training or qualifications as required and agreed.
