The Opportunity

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Clinical Paediatric Nurse Lead to join our team at Lagan's Foundation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the clinical operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality paediatric nursing care, and providing leadership to our nursing staff.

Main duties of the job

  1. Clinical Oversight: Provide clinical leadership and expertise in paediatric nursing care, ensuring adherence to best practices, protocols, and standards of care.
  2. Staff Management: Supervise and mentor nursing staff, including recruitment, training, performance evaluation, and professional development.
  3. Patient Care Coordination: Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including physicians, therapists, and social workers, to coordinate comprehensive care plans for paediatric patients with complex medical needs.
  4. Quality Improvement: Monitor and evaluate clinical processes and outcomes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing quality improvement initiatives.
  5. Family Support: Offer support and guidance to families of children with complex medical conditions, ensuring their needs and concerns are addressed effectively.
  6. Administrative Duties: Manage administrative tasks related to CCQ Compliance, staffing, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation within the clinical department.
  7. Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, licensure standards, and organisational policies and procedures.
  8. Community Engagement: Represent Lagan's Foundation in the community, participating in outreach activities, educational events, and collaborative initiatives with other healthcare and not for profit organisations.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • Bachelors degree in Nursing (BScN) required; Master's degree in Nursing or related field preferred.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license with paediatric nursing certification.
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in paediatric nursing, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management / leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of paediatric healthcare practices, procedures, and standards of care.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of Lagan's Foundation.

Desirable

  • Level 3 Education and Training
  • Experience in a healthcare charity organization providing clinical support.
