Job summary

Haven Heath have an exciting opportunity for an administrator to join our busy practice support team, on a part-time basis for 25 hours per week. The post-holder should be able to work both autonomously and also as part of a team. We are looking to enhance our friendly and supportive team with someone who likes a challenge and is both enthusiastic and committed.

Main duties of the job

  • Processing, managing and chasing up incoming claims for medical information from private companies i.e. insurance companies, DVLA, or patient requests.
  • Communicating with patients clearly and concisely, managing both online access requests and subject access requests in a timely manner.
  • Communicating with patients when payment is needed and when work is complete and any other patient communication that may be required.
  • Managing/adding rotas onto the clinical system.
  • Managing requests regarding subject access rights (SARS) and patient online access requests, allocate the completion of medical reports and private medical examination to the appropriate GP in a fair manner.
  • Scanning all incoming correspondents.
  • Filing and retrieving paperwork.
  • Clinical system rotas.
  • Any other clinical and non-clinical administrative duties the practice feel is relevant to the role.

  • Experienced medical administrators, with excellent IT and typing skills;
  • Adaptable and friendly, with strong administration, time management and organisational skills;
  • Excellent communicators able to work in a confidential and discreet manner;
  • Able to "think on their feet" in a busy working environment;
  • Able to multi-task, work hard and maintain a high level of attention to detail, when under pressure;
  • Able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, as well as comfortable working independently.
  • Experience of working in an office and ideally have experience of working in primary care.
  • Ideally have experience of using SystmOne.
