This post attracts a 'Golden Hello' payment of £5,000 applicable to new applicants taking a substantive post. £2,500 will be payable after the first month of employment and £2,500 will be paid after six months*.

Community Dental Services CIC have a rare opportunity for a General Dental Practitioner who identifies with our values and is passionate about providing care for those most at need.

Main duties of the job

Applications are invited from enthusiastic dentists for this post based in Fairfield Children's Centre. Fairfield has a high dental need and is a service providing a wide range of care. Whilst having clinical independence the post involves regular interaction with the Community Dental Service team at training events, peer review sessions and team meetings. The post holder will be supported to develop their clinical experience and skills and have the opportunity to share their skills and experience with the existing team.

Fairfield is a two-surgery unit within the children's centre with an existing list of continuing care patients and a steady stream of new clients from the local area. The clinic also has an experienced special care dental officer and a hygiene/therapist with skills in inhalation sedation. The surgery uses a computerised dental system and has modern dental x-ray facilities, many of the dental nurses hold a qualification in dental radiography.

The post holder will deliver the full range of NHS dental treatment and preventative care to patients in the Fairfield area. The wider community team provide dental care for many groups in the community including adults and children patients with additional needs.
