Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for two practitioners become part of the Primary Intermediate Mental Health Team, in a Trainee Senior Mental Health Practitioner role, providing assessments, care planning and interventions to individuals accessing the service. The service will provide a specific 12 month training program, catered towards developing specific skill set to meet the needs of the service client cohort. This will include attendance at specific therapy skills training, alongside the expectation this practitioner will work across all pathways within the service, including acting as role of duty practitioner.

Main duties of the job

  • The practitioner will work within generic mental health, Perinatal Mental Health, Early Help and Family Safeguarding pathways as well as the Neurodevelopmental Pathways. On successful completion of the training program alongside demonstrable senior clinician clinical skills, the practitioner will progress into a Senior Clinician role within the team, moving from B5 to B6 practitioner.

    This is a forward thinking and progressive service; therefore we are looking to appoint individuals who have the passion and motivation to make a positive contribution to our team and the Fylde Coast community. Ability to work with multidisciplinary and multi organisational teams is essential.

  • The post holder will be specialist key member of the Primary Intermediate Mental Health Team.

  • Effective in mental health assessment, formulating and providing intervention to people who are referred with moderate and complex mental health difficulties.

  • Liaison with various multi agency professionals from both statutory and voluntary organisations. Sign-posting referrals as necessary to ensure that clients access the most suitable care in a timely manner.

  • Working within a Trauma informed model to support the complex and varied presentations of this patient cohort.

The job description is intended to act as a flexible guide to the duties of the post and therefore will require revision in consultation with the post holder to reflect the changing requirements of the post, to enable the Trust to achieve its corporate goals and objectives.

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

  • Professional/Clinical Qualification e.g. Registered Mental Health Nurse

Desirable

  • Specialist qualification or equivalent level in skills development
  • Community Practitioner Degree/Diploma or similar qualification

WORK HISTORY/WORK EXPERIECE

Essential

  • Previous multi-disciplinary management experience
  • Ability to and commitment to integrated working

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE

  • Understanding of Health and Safety Policy. Ability to carry out Risk assessments
  • Evidence of recent personal/professional development

PERSONAL QUALITIES/REQUIREMENT

Essential

  • Car driver with access to a vehicle/or suitable alternative transport arrangements which will need minimal response times
  • Demonstrates an ability to use own initiative, and delegate effectively to junior team members
