The Role
Band 7 Occupational
Therapist is required to help deliver and plan the new Childrens and Young
Peoples Sensory Service. A band 7 OT
with experience and qualifications in sensory is required. The post includes delivering a virtual
universal and targeted training to parents/carers and schools as well as
developing the specialist provision. This is a in-person post with a hybrid working
model, virtual working will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

To provide a highly specialist Occupational
Therapy assessment, intervention and advice service for children & young
people whose sensory processing is impacting on their participation in
activities of everyday living and access the service via a 3-tiered offer
(universal, targeted and specialist). This will include working with
parents/carers, educational settings, the voluntary sector and other health
professionals. You may need to work within the childrens centres, educational
settings and homes.
To provide workshop/training packages to parents
and children and the young peoples workforce to build their confidence to
assist the service user in self management strategies.
To supervise, train and performance manage
junior, and student occupational therapists as delegated by the Operational
Manager and Clinical Quality Leads.
To participate and contribute to the
development, maintenance, and evaluation of the CYP Sensory Service.
To lead on designated aspects of service in
conjunction with Clinical Quality Lead and Highly Specialist Therapists.
To ensure a high standard of child and family
centred service delivery is achieved and work autonomously demonstrating
effective management and leadership skills.
