Job summary

1 x 22.5 hours per week with the primary base at Saint Mary's Wythenshawe.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic band 6 midwife to join the Maternity Governance team based at Saint Mary's Wythenshawe. The role will support the Band 7 Governance Midwife and the wider team across Maternity Services at North Manchester and Oxford Road. The post will include guideline development, clinical audit and reviewing clinical incidents with the clinical teams to identify lessons learnt to improve care provided to all families accessing care at Saint Mary's.

Main duties of the job

You will need to be able to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a driving passion and determination to support the midwifery team in line with the exciting national picture of care and compassion, as well as a local picture of quality improvement. You will need to have good knowledge and skill base in midwifery clinical practice.In this role you will support the Matron for Governance in supporting all aspects of clinical governance.You will need to be self driven, clinically sound, approachable and well organised. In this key role you will work closely with the multi- disciplinary team.
