An
exciting opportunity has arisen within Leicestershire Nutrition and Dietetic
Service - Public Health team for a 0.6 wte band 6 Public Health Nutritionist or
Dietitian to cover a maternity leave.
Leicester Nutrition and Dietetic Service
(Community) has a team of approximately 80 staff, made of dietitians, public
health nutritionists, assistant dietetic practitioners, dietetic support
workers, and support team staff covering the population of Leicester,
Leicestershire & Rutland.
The
post is to deliver our city FLiC (Family Lifestyle Club), childrens weight
management programme. You would join our Public Health Nutrition team which
will see you also involved in student training and public health related
initiatives.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will need to have experience or a
keen interest in working in childrens weight management alongside, experience
of delivering and evaluating interventions. The successful candidate will have a
good knowledge of public health issues as well as good communication and team
working skills and can also work independently.
You must be available for delivering groups after
school hours and occasionally work on a Saturday morning, you will also be
required to drive to different venues. Therefore, applicants must hold a full UK
driving licence and have access to a car.

Qualifications

- A four year Undergraduate or a Two year Post Graduate Degree in Nutrition & Dietetics or an Undergraduate Nutrition Degree or similar none UK qualification
Experience
Essential
- Is able to prioritise workload and is flexible in approach and has an influence on developing these skills in junior staff and students
- Is able to use analytical and problem solving skills to apply to own practice
- Has good knowledge of national strategies and clinical evidence related to childrens obesity
- Previous experience in weight management and working with individuals who are overweight or obese
