A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Senior Data Warehouse Developer looking to further their career by joining the expanding KMDW Data Warehousing department on 2 year fixed-term contract. Using Microsoft development tools, you will lead on the development and maintenance of a unique county-wide data warehouse that is relied on by NHS organisations across Kent & Medway for the benefit of both patients and staff.

The NHS is becoming a data driven organisation and the KMDW department is leading the way across local Health and Social Care organisations who depend on a well-managed data warehouse for the operational running of their services.

The department is highly regarded both locally and nationally - particularly for its work in the area of linking datasets from a wide variety of organisations for population health management purposes. Team members are also widely respected for the innovative solutions developed for stakeholders and the agile working methodologies employed.

Main duties of the job

The role offers the opportunity to lead in designing, monitoring, maintaining and improving current data flows and warehousing processes along with developing Extract, Transform, Load processes for new flows. The key focus of the role will be to develop and implement data quality solutions within the data warehouse.

The post holder will also be responsible for investigating and deploying innovative ways of system and process improvement.

A wide range of in-person and online training opportunities will be offered based on your requirements, including the option of certified Microsoft training.

It is essential that you have a good working experience of data warehousing techniques, preferably using SQL Server and SQL Server Integration Services. You will be expected to work on your own initiative to achieve strict deadlines, liaising and managing relationships with data owners and system users.

The KMDWdata warehouse has been in operation for over 20 years with a dedicated team having significant experience working in data management. Skills

  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks and conflicting priorities and work under pressure to tight deadlines with occasional prolonged concentration
  • Able to plan and organise major specialist projects and to work effectively and adapt the plans to cope with changing circumstances
