If so, an exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Learning Disability Services within Devon Partnership Trust, due to the re-development of services. There has been the creation of a new 8a post, in order to support the new structure, we are advertising a 1wte Operational Managers (OM) to support the continual delivery and development of the service, who will be a key member of the Senior Management Team.

The post will be located in the Cluster of Exeter and East

We are looking for an individual who has a proven track record in delivering high standards of patient care and the ability to improve and embed services. Experience of Operational Management within a healthcare setting is desirable. The role is dynamic and challenging. As part of Senior Management Team, you will work alongside Clinical Professional Leads - Psychology, Nursing, Speech and Language, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapists in designing the future provision of Learning Disability Services.

Main duties of the job

The OM will work as an integral part of the Learning Disability Management Team. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring the operational and performance management of a number of Learning Disability teams. They will ensure that the work of clinical staff is to the highest standards of evidence based practice, implement quality and safety standards and ensure compliance with commissioning standards, and the development of clinical pathways.

The OM will ensure that clinical process takes place in line with practice standards, this will include assessment, planning, implementation and review and that robust and consistent risk management processes are in place. They will be responsible for the management of resources to deliver services which meet the required financial, performance and quality standards and ensure that the Directorate Governance and assurance systems are in place, including CQC compliance.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Professional clinical knowledge acquired through degree, or equivalent experience
  • Specialist training, Management qualification to diploma level or equivalent experience
  • Current professional registration with appropriate professional body or a qualification in Positive Behavioural Support at Masters level.

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of NHS or Social Care management or equivalent
  • Experience in the development, management, co-ordination of staff and services
  • Experience of liaising with other disciplines, agencies and providers to assess, deliver and monitor services for clients in inpatient and community settings

Knowledge and Skills

Essential

  • Contemporary knowledge of policy and practice relating to Learning Disability
  • Experience and proven track record of implanting practice development/training programmes
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Able to own problems and get involved in the solutions.
