We are looking to take on a number of permanent Health Care Support Workers in our Families, Young People and Childrens and Learning Disabilities & Autism Services (FYPC/LDA) across CAMHS and Learning Disabilities inpatient services.

We provide 24/7 care throughout the year and our staff work various shift patterns across days and nights. Health Care Support Workers work on a rotational basis to provide care to our patients.

We are dedicated to the care we provide to our patients, and Health Care Support Workers are an important part of our staffing team. You will work alongside nurses, doctors, occupational therapists and psychologists as part of the multidisciplinary team.

We are looking for Health Care Support Workers who are caring, compassionate and genuinely interested in working with patients.

The wards provide multidisciplinary support and care planning to patients with complex medical and rehabilitation needs. We provide high quality and compassionate care to our service users.

The majority of our vacancies are at our units on the Glenfield Hospital and Frith Hospital sites in the north of the City. They are well served by public transport and there is free parking available on site.

Main duties of the job

Attached to this vacancy is a Job and Person specification for the role of a Health Care Support Worker.

This role supports the qualified nursing staff and the wider multi-disciplinary team in the delivery of direct patient care and supporting patients in maintaining their health and wellbeing.

Our services to patients are on a 24/7 basis and you will be expected to work a variety of shift patterns. We try and accommodate individual needs through flexible working, but cant guarantee we can accommodate every request.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Level 2 qualification in functional skills Maths and English or required to successfully complete within six months
  • Care Certificate or Required to successfully complete within 12 weeks

Desirable

  • NVQ/QCF Level 2 or Level 3 in Care

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working in a healthcare environment
