We are recruiting for a Clinical Skills Trainer (RGN,RSCN,RNLD) to deliverin-house clinical and mandatory training to non-registered staff (support workers, HCA, RA) and other relevant staff requiring support. This role would also sign off non-registered staff as competent in extended roles/clinical based skills, whilst supporting to ensure continued clinical competency.

Active Care Group training is delivered in line withorganisationalvalues and requirements as per sector standards.

This role predominantly covers the Southof England, involving travel.

What you'll be working:

  • 37.5 Hrs per week
  • Monday to Friday

*** Must be willing to travel with overnight stays required

What you'll be doing:

  • Train and assess non-registered staff (Support Workers, HCA, RA and at times Bank Nurses and other relevant staff) in mandatory skills such as Medication administration, Continence Care, insulin administration, bowel management, buccal midazolam, along with medication administered rectally.
  • Work with the training and wider nursing team to support the training, development of staff in clinical skills including Neurogenic Bowel Management and competency training
  • Train and assess relevant staff in clinical skills such as Suction, Tracheostomy Care, Ventilation, Enteral Feed, Catheterisation etc if required
  • Deliver additional group or one to one session as required
  • Preparation and management of the learning environment/ resources to maximize the learner experience
  • Update specialist knowledge and skills in line with current best practice guidelines
  • Contribute to the review of training and development resources and content
  • Attend and contribute to team meetings and other meetings as required
  • Maintain own knowledge and competence by undertaking appropriate continuing professional development and clinical/non clinical supervision as needed
  • Inform the Training Manager/Care Manager/Regional Clinical Lead of any issues that are likely to adversely impact quality of client care and/or health and safety of employees
  • Liaise with various departments as needed

What you'll have:

  • Registered General Nurse, Registered Sick Children’s Nurse, Registered Learning Disabilities Nurse, Registered Mental Health Nurse with knowledge and understanding of extended clinical skills such as Bowel management, Tracheostomy, Enteral Feed and Catheterisation etc
  • Confidence when working within a team as well as self-motivated to work independently
  • Strong presentation, verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Adaptable and flexible approach to tasks
  • Computer literate with good Microsoft Word knowledge
  • Independent, self-motivated and able to work with minimal direct supervision
  • Up to date on best practice for interventions with clients who have spinal injuries, ABI, learning disabilities, neurological conditions.
  • Previous experience working with people with Learning Disabilities, Spinal Cord Injury, Acquired Brain Injury or long-term Neurological conditions, ideally in a community setting would be an advantage
  • Training qualification i.e., Teaching & Assessing award, Mentorship award, Safer People Handling Trainer and /or Assessor, or be willing to work towards
  • Car owner with full UK driving license for essential travel

Qualifications

Essential
