We are currently seeking a motivated Ophthalmologist to take up the position of MR/VR Ophthalmology fellow. This is an important post within the department, and we are hoping to recruit an innovative and committed individual.

Person Specification

Qualifications and Knowledge

Essential

  • A minimum of 4 years ophthalmic experience
  • GMC Registration with a license to practise

Desirable

  • Higher degree or medical retina fellowship
  • Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training

Experience

Essential

  • Competent in intravitreal injections
  • Competent in Argon PRP laser
  • Competent in routine cataract surgery (>100 cases)
  • Previous participation in clinical trials
  • Publications in peer reviewed journals

Desirable

  • Able to independently manage complications of cataract surgery
  • Competent with management of ocular trauma (surgical) and acute emergencies

Skills

Essential

  • Working in multidisciplinary teams
  • Leadership
  • Training junior doctors and allied healthcare professionals
  • Communication and IT Skills

Record Keeping

Essential

  • Clear legible clinical record keeping

Desirable

  • Experience with using paperless electronic patient records
