Job summary
This post is for a suitably qualified Audiologist with a proven track record of providing excellent clinical services, working with adults and children.
To work as part of the audiology team to provide auditory diagnostics and rehabilitation for our adult and paediatric services.
Main duties of the job
Perform routine audiological investigations on individuals of all ages to support the differential diagnosis of auditory dysfunction.
Provide and assist in second-tier community paediatric audiology clinics, using age-appropriate testing techniques including VRA and producing reports to various medical and education colleagues
Agree on aural rehabilitation for patients of all ages, including the selection, fitting and exchange of a range of NHS digital hearing aids, the taking of aural impressions and advising on assistive listening devices.
Advising junior colleagues on treatment plans and technical issues
Support the delivery of the paediatric diagnostic and rehabilitation service working closely with Audiovestibular clinicians and senior Audiologists. This will include the provision of diagnostic ABR to the NHSP population.
Complete routine follow-up checks of hearing aid use
Undertake routine hearing aid repair/servicing clinics
Perform advanced tests of middle ear function, tinnitus evaluation and objective measurement procedures.
Perform ward visits to in-patients requiring assessment or hearing aid issues or repair
Provide expert audiological support for ENT and Audiological Medicine clinics
Undertake assessments of adult patients with hearing difficulties using the direct referral system
Offer wax removal, including micro-suction clinics
Provide cover for colleagues as required
