Our department is committed to student training, quality improvement, research and audit. We pride ourselves on our commitment to continuing professional development. All Band 6 staff are led and supervised by a Band 7 or Band 8 Advanced Specialist Dietitian.

You ideally should have at least one-year's paediatric experience or have a good grounding in dietetics. However, we will also consider experienced adult Dietitians who have a passion to learn paediatrics within a tertiary unit. You must be enthusiastic and flexible. Additionally, you must be a good communicator and team worker who can self-direct your learning quickly. You should be computer literate.

Main duties of the job

Are you looking to get more experience as a Paediatric Dietitian and want to join a dynamic forward thinking team within a tertiary children's hospital?

We are a large friendly department of Dietitians, supported by Dietetic Support Workers, Special Feed Unit staff and administration staff. You will have a fantastic opportunity to gain a broad experience in paediatric dietetics.

The post will be within the Band 6 rotation, which includes: BMT and oncology, general medicine, renal, cardiology, surgery, burns, PICU, neonatology, neurology, ketogenic diet, obesity, diabetes and community. The successful candidate will work within one of these specialities for the 12 month period. However, there may be the opportunity for experience within other teams, if desired. Our other teams' specialities include: gastroenterology, cystic fibrosis, inherited metabolic diseases, and Barth's syndrome. We also have a rapidly growing outpatient service which includes: feeding problems, faltering growth, allergy and complex needs.
