Job summary

Sheffield Walk-in-Centre are looking for a forward thinking Patient Navigator/Receptionist to facilitate and deliver a patient centric experience. This is an opportunity to provide care that will really make a difference by working within a caring, compassionate team who truly put the patients at the forefront of their work.

Main duties of the job

The Patient Navigator will work with our existing team to provide patient focused telephone and administration services that assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professionals.

We have full-time (40 hours per week) available. However, part-time can also be considered.Please be advised that this is a job to cover weekends and evenings (12pm - 10:30pm or 5:30pm - 10:30pm).

Ideally the successful candidate will have exceptional communication skills, experience of using IT systems and work well under pressure. Working as part of a team who really care about putting our patients first will be a huge motivator for you. Experience as a Patient Navigator/Receptionist is desirable though not essential.

Sheffield Walk in Centre sees 77,500 patients annually through walk-in and those booked directly into the service through external system partners such as NHS 111. We have a close relationship with the local hospitals and work across the city with our external partners, to ensure we are providing high-quality care for our patients.

Skills and Knowledge

Essential

  • Desirably have prior experience as patient navigator/medical receptionist
  • Be confident using the phone
  • Have a good level of IT skills
  • Be friendly and welcoming; patient and understanding
  • Be able to follow instructions and procedures
  • Have good organisation and communication skills
  • Work accurately and methodically
  • Be able to work with all types of people
