You will work as part of the new unscheduled care team assisting paramedics in emergencies. You will work in the day as triage nurses completing reviews and assessments of acute illnesses throughout the prison. At night you will act as the emergency responder attending to emergency codes. You will be able to work autonomously and be skilled at emergency care. Having experience in Accident and emergency will support you in this fast paced role. You will triage applications and work with the GP in managing medical emergencies within the prison and preventing admissions to hospitals.

This role will be working full time 37.5 hours per week. You will be working between the hours of 9am - 5pm Monday to Saturday.

Main duties of the job

You will be a Registered Nurse (RGN) looking to develop your current skills in a unique and ever changing environment. You will have a passion for learning and development, as well as having the initiative to bring new ideas and opinions on how to improve the healthcare services.Prison Healthcare experience is not essential although we do ask that you have experience within primary care.
