Job summary
Southport and Formby Hospital this
includes adults accident and emergency services, intensive care and a range of
medical and surgical specialities.
There is also an outpatients
service. The North West Regional Spinal Injuries Centre at Southport hospital
provides specialist care for spinal patients from across the North West, North
Wales and the Isle of Man.
The hospital, which replaced the
Southport General Infirmary and the Southport Promenade Hospital, opened in
September 1988.
Main duties of the job
RESPONSIBLE FOR:
To perform and analyse diagnostic hearing
assessments on adults and children over the age of 36 months.
Examination of the pinna, external auditory
canal and tympanic membrane to identify normal and healthy features using
otoscopy.
Recognizing contraindications to performing
further procedures and appropriate referral to ENT, Dressing Clinic, GP,
Treatment Rooms and Radiology.
Provides day to day supervision of more junior
staff (e.g., Associate or Assistant Audiologists, and less experienced
Audiologists)

Qualifications
Essential
- To be successful in applying for this role you will need:
- BSc Audiology Degree or equivalent
- RCCP Registered or if newly qualified working towards registration
- Relevant experience at working at Band 5 level
- Evidence of clinical competence
