Due to some recent investment in the dietetic service we are thrilled to offer this new post.
We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic and highly motivated dietitian to join our friendly and supportive acute dietetic team. The dietetic team has an excellent reputation within the trust and region, it is known for being innovative and forward thinking. The dietetic team aim to present posters at BAPEN yearly. In addition, we are known locally for being excellent trainers of dietetic students and the department provides P1, P2 and P3 placements.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be supported by a Band 7 and other B6 dietitians. Continuing professional development is actively supported via clinical supervision, close liaison with other local acute dietetic services, yearly appraisal, and in-house and in-service training. We will also offer you the opportunity to participate in audits and quality improvement projects.

Job description
Job responsibilities
You will be a part of a multidisciplinary team, working closely to provide specialist nutrition support for cardiology, surgical and thoracic oncology patients. Therefore, the post holder should have a keen interest and experience in enteral feeding. There will be opportunities for you to further hone your skills in providing enteral feeding to complex patients and receive training on parenteral nutrition.
The trust is also looking to develop a pre-habilitation service for surgical patients and there will be an opportunity to be involved in this project.
The dietetic services core service hours are Monday - Friday 8am - 4pm.

Qualifications
Essential
- Degree or equivalent in Nutrition and Dietetics of equivalent
- HCPC registration
- Member of BDA of equivalent
Experience
Essential
- Broad experience in managing enteral fed patients and those on nutritional support in a variety of settings.
- Experience of Multi-disciplinary working
- Experience and evidence of continuing professional development.
Desirable
- Experience of training student dietitians
- Experience of audit
