This is an exciting opportunity to join the Clinical Practice Development team within clinical education at Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. We are looking for an enthusiastic and professional individual with drive and passion for practice development to support the leadership of, design and deliver quality clinical skills training relevant to an individual's area of practice/program of study, including NMC Part 2 Test of Competence and Band 2-5 development programs, ensuring the newly hired international nurses receive timely support, training and passes their OSCE within 12 weeks of arrival.

This is great opportunity to lead the way for training and development of new and existing internationally trained nurse within the Trust whilst forging close inter-working relationships with the wider clinical education and practice development team to support and ensure improvements in the delivery of the best possible patient experience.

Main duties of the job

The role has strong clinical skills focus and is central to the leading designing and delivery of training programs to progress overseas staff through the NMC Part 2 Test of Competence and the professional development of Bands 2 to 5 to ensure they are skilled, knowledgeable and fit for practice. The role also engages with the development of the wider clinical workforce, working collaboratively across disciplines and professions through work-based learning, clinical support, education and training, mentorship and clinical supervision.

The role is to facilitate and support non-medical clinical learners across the nursing and healthcare support worker professions, at all grades and academic level. Candidates must have current NMC registration, recent clinical experience and competence within the hospital setting with evidence for supporting learning and development. A teaching/training, mentor qualification or its equivalent is desirable. Cardiothoracic surgical experience, skills and knowledge is essential.

Full Time hours : 37.5hrs per week, permanent contract

Part time hours considered: minimum 30 hours per week.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Registered professional: Nurse, Allied Healthcare Professional or Healthcare Scientist.
  • Degree level qualification or equivalent experience

Desirable

  • Mentorship qualification such as the mentorship preparation pathway, ENB 998 or equivalent
  • Teaching/training qualification to a minimum of Diploma level or equivalent
