Job summary
Applications are invited for the post of Locum Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon with subspecialist training in foot and ankle surgery, with a view of appointing to a substantive post within the next 18 months.
The successful applicant will join a team of Consultants and Associate Specialists in providing a comprehensive elective Orthopaedic and Trauma service to the population of Somerset. The Department has a major commitment to training, supervising a team of SPRs, CT1/2s, Foundation Year 2 Doctors, as well as teaching of Medical Students from Bristol and Plymouth.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be expected to provide full elective and trauma surgery services using both day surgery and in-patient operating lists. The applicant should be fellowship trained and subspecialise in foot and ankle surgery. The successful candidate will be expected to work closely with the existing orthopaedic team and have appropriate recent general orthopaedic trauma experience.
