Main duties of the job

As a Junior Data Analyst, you will be a key part of a team transforming data and developing Data Visualization and Reporting solutions for internal Technical and Business Partners. Reporting into the Senior Data Analyst, the role is a great opportunity for someone with data analysis career aspirations or in the early stages of their data analysis career to contribute to the ongoing development of the data management team in a fast paced environment at a very exciting time in the company's growth.

The role will be home based but could be required to attend various meeting locations as and when required. The role will also adhere to the flexitime principles for PUK.

Job description

Job responsibilities

  • Working within the data analytics and reporting team you will be responsible forproducing both regularly required external reports and adhoc requested internal and external reports.
  • You will attend both internal and external meetings to present the information contained in reports and visualisations to stakeholders in easily accessible language.
  • Crafting and executing queries upon request for data creation and build out of operational insight reports (SQL training will be provided).
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of technical documentation relating to data definitions and organisation data dictionary.
  • Support ongoing work to improve the data quality across the organisation
  • Update domain knowledge by continuously researching and evaluating market solutions and tools, participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks.
  • Plan own workload to ensure that tasks are met.
  • Prioritise workload with consideration to issues arising and responding to shifting priorities appropriately.
  • Actively participate in regular supervision with line manager and the PUK PDR process for maintaining and developing personal skills and meeting agreed objectives.
  • The post holder will attend online training as relevant to the post including mandatory training courses i.e. Information Governance, safeguarding, Health and Safety courses etc

Qualifications

Desirable

  • Degree in a numerate subject or relevant professional qualification

Experience

Essential

  • Experience working with data.
  • Hands on experience working with the office suite of applications in particular PowerPoint and Excel.
