We are looking to recruit a full time Specialty Doctor to join Willows Ward.
Main duties of the job
Woodlands is a purpose-built psychiatric unit opened in July 2011 on the Ipswich General Hospital site, catering for the acutely unwell for whom community treatment is not currently appropriate.
Willows Ward is the Old Age Psychiatry ward within Woodlands and manages older/frail patients with both organic and functional illnesses.
There are also two 21 bed acute adult wards within Woodlands, together with a 10 bed Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), a Section 136 suite, and a Home Treatment Team. The Home Treatment Team treats all patients from age 18 and over, including elderly patients.
Patients are admitted to wards according to needs, vulnerability and safety, rather than simply age and proximity and all manage patients of both sexes. The wards work collaboratively with the community teams, in particular the Home Treatment Team, to provide comprehensive acute treatment.
