JOB OVERVIEW
Senior Clinical fellow in Anaesthetics:An exciting opportunity has arisen for motivated doctors to join our talented and hardworking team at Epsom & St Helier. The posts will require right to work in UK and current GMC registration. . The post holder will be required to work on call at either Epsom or St Helier Hospital.
Main duties of the job
The Department of Anaesthetics is a friendly and supportive one. We have achieved ACSA Accreditation from the Royal College of Anaesthetists, welcome innovation and will support change where it improves care to our patients.

Job responsibilities
The Epsom & St Helier Anaesthetic department is aligned with the St George's Hospital teaching programme for medical students and the SW Thames School of Anaesthesia training programme. We score highly each year in the national hip fracture database report and are one of the busiest 5 units in London. Our National Emergency Laparotomy Audit (NELA) pathway and patient outcomes score as excellent.
Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
- MBBS or equivalent
- Registration with GMC
Desirable
- Primary FRCA or equivalent
- Recognised RCoA approved anaesthetic qualification
Experience
Essential
- Minimum 24 months experience in anaesthetics (international experience considered)
- Provider or instructor in ATLS, APLS, ALS or similar
Desirable
- 6 months UK experience in anaesthetics
- UK Core training completed (or equivalent experience) 3 months independent experience in obstetric anaesthesia
Teaching, research and Clinical Governance
Essential
- Understanding of clinical governance and participation in audit
- Current successful appraisal and revalidation
- Presentations at postgraduate meetings
Desirable
- Evidence of research and/or publications
- Ability to teach junior staff
