Job summary

Are you a nurse with substantial experience in theatre and recovery, particularly within maternity, obstetric, or gynaecological settings? We have an exceptional opportunity for you at Queen Charlotte's Hospital, which has again been rated 'Outstanding' by the CQC, enhancin and deepening your expertise in obstetric theatres and recovery.

In this pivotal role you will be working collaboratively with midwives, obstetricians, and anaesthetists. Your work will be crucial in developing our theatre and recovery services, where you will be working alongside our Band 6 theatre nurse, Band 7 team leader and matron to ensure the highest standards of care.

We seek a motivated and enthusiastic nurse who is keen to take on challenges in maternity care and is committed to providing exceptional care to women and their families in both theatre and recovery settings. This role will offer you a diverse range of experiences, ensuring both job satisfaction and a significant impact on patient outcomes.

As a vital member of the delivery suite team, you will be involved in the care of mothers and babies, supported by our midwifery team. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the daily stock of equipment and consumables and coordinating with sterile supplies to maintain the upkeep of instruments.

Main duties of the job

To provide care to patients in the operating theatre and maternity recovery area

Assesses care needs and develops implements and evaluates programmes of care

Prepares and assembles theatre equipment and instruments

Responsible for maintaining asepsis intraoperative

Ensures safety of the theatre and recovery environment including stock levels and storage of equipment

Provides support to students/learners within the unit

Works collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team members in maintaining policies and standards of patient care related to perioperative and postoperative management
