An exciting opportunity has arisen within Cwm Taf Morgannwg UHB as we are seeking to recruit a Head of Nursing for the Primary Care and Communities Care Group.
The post holder will have overall responsibility for the management and professional leadership of nursing across all specialities within the care group. The post holder will be working closely with the Nurse Director and Service Director and nursing colleagues to ensure safe, effective and equitable care and service delivery for our population.
Primary Care and Communities cover a wide range of services which include:
Community Hospitals
Community Services
Specialist nursing services
Palliative Care
District Nursing
Healthcare at HMP Parc Prison
Primary Care
the Head of Nursing also provides nursing professionals support to GP Out of hours, Dental Nursing, and Vaccination centers.
Main duties of the job
The Head of Nursing is professionally accountable for the delivery of high quality, safe and effective care for services within the sphere of responsibility, and will promote and role model the Health Board values, professional leadership expectations and behaviours.The Head of Nursing will actively develop a culture of quality and productivity to improve patient/client care and services by analysis of complex data and information, developing and implementing solutions to enhance quality and meeting performance targets.The individual will lead a culture of ensuring patient/client safety through adherence to legal obligations and safety requirements by reviewing and challenging risks and progress on plans to reduce risk.
The Head of Nursing will lead a culture of quality improvement, which produces new ideas, approaches, innovation or insights, ensuring that strategic and operational plans are developed and taken forward to improve patient/client care and services.
As a key member of the Senior leadership team, you will work closely with the Care Group Nurse Directors, Clinical Directors and Clinical Service Group Managers to ensure the delivery of high-quality, efficient and cost-effective patient care.
This is an exciting time to join the University Health Board and you will be integral in designing the operational structures and processes going forward.The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
