Job summary
Trinity Medical Centre is seeking a GP for up to 5 months for a maternity locum post. As a GP Practice, you will be
responsible for providing primary medical services to the registered patients
of the practice, ensuring the highest standards of care for all, undertaken in
line with the relevant national primary care contractual
regulations and guidelines. Provide care for both on-the day care for patients
and pre-booked patients with long term conditions and maintaining the
smooth running of the practice.

Work alongside our Multi professional team including practice

Associate, Practice nurses, Healthcare Assistants, Associate Practitioners.
Liaising with external health care professionals
Continue to support our excellent QOF performance
Equitable share of duty doctor days
Daily clinical huddles.

We are based in the centre of Hove and
our 24,000 patients are cared for by 8 GP Partners, 7 salaried GPs, 3 ANPs
and a skilled nursing and administration team plus a broad range of
multi-disciplinary healthcare professionals including paramedics, social
prescribers, first contact physio and a mental health worker, working as part
of our well established Goldstone PCN. We consult using EMIS Web and have been
pioneers for on-line consulting, electronic prescribing and workflow document
management. We have excellent QOF performance, are rated as Good by CQC and
offer many specialist services - joint injections, minor ops, and family
planning. Our fantastic nursing team run all chronic disease clinics. We are a well-respected Training Practice,
hosting GP Speciality Trainees, FY2 doctors and medical students from BSMS.

Clinical responsibilities:
- In accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion
- Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation
- Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
- Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
- In consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols, developing care plans for health
- Providing counselling and health education
- Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate
- Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards
- Collecting data for audit purposes
- Compiling and issuing computer acute and repeat prescriptions (EPS)
- Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate
- In general the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care and in line with a GMS contract.
Other responsibilities within the organisation:
- Awareness of and compliance with all relevant practice policies/guidelines, e.g. prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety
- A commitment to life-long learning and audit to ensure evidence-based best practice
- Contributing to evaluation/audit and clinical standard setting within the organisation
- In line with CPD, attending training and events organised by the practice or other agencies, where appropriate.
