Job summary
We are seeking to recruit a band 7 Clinical Specialist post in the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Team here in the wonderful City of York. This post will offer an opportunity to join a well-established service delivered by a large welcoming team and is a great opportunity to work alongside a compassionate multidisciplinary provision in supporting the mental health needs of our families here in York.
Your role will be as a clinical lead within the service, providing leadership in clinical work and service development, will include direct clinical work with our more complex service users and provide supervision and development of clinicians. All of which to enable the best outcomes for our York families.
Main duties of the job
We are seeking someone who will:
- Be a driven, enthusiastic and a forward thinking leader.
- Have extensive experience working in CAMHS services.
- Have a post graduate qualification in a governed psychological therapy such as CBT, SFT, DBT.
- Hold a relevant Professional Registration (RMN, SW, OT ).

Qualifications
Essential
- Registration with relevant professional body. (e.g. NMC, GMC, HCPC, Social Work-England)
- For nursing professions - Recognised Practice Supervisor and /or Practice Assessor, clinical educator or equivalent and
- Trained in providing clinical supervision
- For other professions - evidence of training in clinical supervision of other staff and able to demonstrate competence in this area of practice in clinical supervision of other staff and/or students/ trainees.
- All professions - Postgraduate diploma (or above) in a subject relevant to the area of practice.
- Or in the absence of postgraduate qualification o Willingness to work towards a postgraduate diploma within 2 years and
- A recognised advanced clinical qualification or Masters level credits e.g., Intermediate Systemic Family Therapy/Post Grad diploma in CBT/British Isles Dialectical Behaviour Therapy /NMP e.g. dysphagia, posture, autism assessment, rebound, social prescribing, sensory processing, Approved Mental Health Professional, Practice Educator (level 3 Independent Prescriber) * Note any other advanced qualification/masters credits not listed here as an example, must be clearly evidenced and listed as "advanced qualification or masters credits" - within the individuals application form

- Extensive knowledge of current issues relating to health needs of patients in the field of practice, regionally and nationally
- Experience of application of relevant legislation (i.e., Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act) in practice.

- Understanding of the IThrive model of working within mental health services.

- Experience of working with complex clinical presentations within CAMHS setting.
- Experience of providing leadership within a clinical setting.
- Experience of providing co-ordinated care within mental health setting as a key worker.
