Job summary

The post holder will be responsible for assisting in the provision of high quality Multi-Professional learning environments within Blackpool Teaching Hospitals Foundation Trust; and will be required to work locally with services where inter-professional learning opportunities can be promoted. The post holder will support the Practice Education Facilitator and team by contributing to the delivery of the Quality Assurance Framework for the Nursing Workforce within the organisation, with a focus on both Acute and Community Settings.

Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a NMC registered Nurse or Midwife to join the Practice Education Facilitator (PEF) team. This role is to provide support to the Practice Education and Placement Lead within the organisation at Blackpool Victoria Hospital with the organisational activity in regards to nursing learners, assessors, educators and all other healthcare learners who are undertaking university programmes of study whilst on clinical placements here at the Trust. The role includes supporting all learners including , allied health professionals, nurses, apprenticeship and work experience learners.

The post holder will contribute to the provision of high quality Multi-Professional learning environments within Blackpool Teaching Hospitals Foundation Trust. You will take an active role in ensuring the sustainability of learning and contribute to local and national conferences and working groups. The post holder will be required to work locally and across boundaries with services where inter-professional learning opportunities are promoted in line with the Quality Assurance Framework.The successful candidate will be a NMC registered healthcare professional with a mentor/educator qualification. The candidate will also have extensive NHS experience with a minimum of 3 years experience post registration in a leadership role

Education & Qualifications

Essential

  • NMC registration
  • Evidence of CPD
  • Educated to master's Level or working towards or significant relevant experience.
  • Mentorship qualification.
  • Supervisory qualification

  • PGCE/Teaching qualification
  • Qualification in Management and Leadership

Experience and Knowledge

Essential

  • Recent post registration health care experience
  • Experience of managing a team
  • Currently clinically competent
  • Understanding of multi-professional curriculum development including the learning outcomes and competencies
  • Experience of having worked across professional and organisational boundaries.
  • Practical experience of facilitating change
  • Experience of developing and implementing new systems and procedures
  • Knowledge of Quality Assurance principles and framework knowledge of differing methods for teaching and learning
  • Experience of teaching and assessing of healthcare learners in a clinical setting
  • Experience of working with external partners, eg, HEI's, HEE
  • Understanding a range of regulatory body requirements.
