Job summary

It is an exciting time to join Enfield Community Services as the national and local agenda is focussed on revisioning and investing in community services. The Neuro rehab team is a small, friendly team, which works side by side with other adult community therapies under the same organisation.

We are looking for an experienced physiotherapist to lead the existing team and to shape the development of services in the future with the aim of growing the multidisciplinary team.

As Clinical Lead for Neuro Rehab Team you will provide expert neuro physio to your own caseload of patients with complex needs and will also be responsible for the clinical development of staff.

You will act as a resource of highly specialist advice to the rest of the community rehabilitation and therapy services and others within wider Trust multidisciplinary services.

The services are located near Enfield Town, with easy commuter links from Central London/Hertfordshire and proximity to M25.

To take clinical responsibility for the Adult Community Neurological Rehabilitation Team and daily organisation.

To manage any service clinical governance issues in line with policy

To perform comprehensive highly specialist Physiotherapy assessments of patients with diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological conditions, to provide a clinical diagnosis and develop and deliver an individualised treatment programme.

To lead on the education of staff, patients and carers in managing complex physiotherapy needs

To be the lead for the service on working closely with other agencies

Working in partnership with the Trusts Quality improvement lead to complete audit and evaluation to further own and team's performance.

To lead the implementation of specific changes to practice and to service protocols for the team.

To contribute to the delivery of health promotion activities

Work with the AHP Lead, Operational lead for Adult Community Therapies and other lead therapists across the Trust to develop and implement a Trust wide AHP strategy

Support the other services within the Adult therapies Services for operational and managerial support

To support the Operational manager in managing the budgets

Person Specification

Education and qualifications

Essential

  • HCPC recognised Diploma/Degree in physiotherapy
  • Evidence of up to date CPD portfolio
  • Attendance at relevant Post-Graduate Courses.

Desirable

  • Member of relevant CEN.
  • A qualification at Master's Degree level or equivalent, in a relevant subject relating to this client group

Experience and knowledge

Essential

  • Recent and extensive experience at advanced practitioner (Band 7) level in relevant area, including substantial experience of adult neurological patient management, and treatment within an NHS setting
  • Experience of working with out-patients and community MDT setting
  • Experience in working with diverse cultures and with complex clinical problems.
  • Experience of delivering training to carers regarding self management of conditions
  • Participation in project /audit activities.
  • Experience of developing and managing a team

Skills and Abilities

Essential

  • Fluent in written and spoken English including the ability to generate letters and reports of a high caliber.
  • Highly advanced communication skills including the ability to participate in high level meetings regarding either patient care or clinical strategy.
  • Highly advanced clinical reasoning, analytical and problem solving skills especially in relation to patients with neurological conditions and adult acquired pathology .
  • Effective time management and ability to adapt within a busy clinical environment.
  • Resilient and flexible approach to own role and workload
  • Ability to supervise and teach both own profession and other and to members of the public
  • Competent IT skills- Evidence of use of basic Microsoft packages i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Excellent understanding of any relevant NSFs, NICE guidance and national/local policy relevant to the development and delivery of this service
  • Awareness of current professional issues/developments pertinent to own field including a good understanding of legal frameworks impacting on clinical practice and service delivery
