Main duties of the job

Job responsibilities
We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-orientated individual to fill the position of full-time dispenser. Additionally, you will be assisting with stock management, medication labelling and other tasks as needed to support the Dispensary Manager. You must have excellent communicational skills, the ability to work on your own as well as within a team and be highly motivated to deliver excellent patient care.
Responsibilities:
Receive and interpret prescription orders from patients and healthcare providers.
Accurately dispense prescription medications, including blister packs and appliances, according to established protocols.
Endorse all prescription forms as appropriate.
Collect all due prescription charges from patients and ensure the patient declaration on the reverse of the FP10 is duly filled in and signed by the patient and that all monies received or handled on behalf of the practice are appropriately stored and a record kept of all financial transactions.
Ensure compliance with all laws, regulations and dispensary policies.

Qualifications
Essential
- BTEC in Pharmaceutical Science or equivalent
- NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent
Desirable
- Registered with GPhC as a Pharmacy Technician
- Knowledge of pharmacy service procedures including GDP, enhanced services, falsified medicines directive, etc.
- Managerial qualification to diploma level, or equivalent experience
- Member of the Association of Pharmacy Technicians (APTUK)
- NVQ Level 4 in Management or equivalent, or equivalent experience in pharmacy management role
Experience
Essential
- Experience of working in a dispensary
- Experience in managing dispensary services in primary care
- Broad knowledge of general practice
- Good clinical system IT knowledge of EMIS
