CARLTON GROUP PRACTICE - PRACTICE NURSE
Applications are invited for either a full-time or part-time Practice Nurse to join our multi-disciplinary primary care team at Carlton Group Practice. We are a friendly well established Practice based over our two sites in Burton on Trent serving over 17,800 patients. The successful applicant will have good clinical, IT and interpersonal skills and will be willing to upskill according to need. Previous Primary Care Nursing experience is desired for this role, however, additional training will be offered where needed.
The successful candidate will deliver primary care nursing services and take responsibility for a number of clinical areas such as Chronic Disease Management, Vaccination and Immunisation programmes, Health Screening and Infection Control.
The successful candidate must be able to work across both sites in Burton upon Trent and be able to deputise for the Lead Nurse as and when required.

About us
We are a friendly forward-thinking Practice close to the centre of Burton upon Trent delivering a wide range of clinical services to our patients. Care is provided over two sites at Carlton Street Surgery and King Street Surgery. Our clinical team consists of 6 GP Partners, 4 Salaried GP's, 2 Clinical Pharmacists, 2 Paramedics, a Lead Practice Nurse with Practice Nursing Team, 3 Heath Care Assistants, Phlebotomist, 2 Pharmacy Technicians a team of Care Coordinators who are assisted by a team of experienced management and administration staff.

Job responsibilities
JOB SUMMARY
To
provide and maintain a high standard of nursing care for patients as well as
providing nursing assistance to the Doctors and other members of the primary
healthcare team. The duties will include
all tasks normally undertaken by an RGN and in addition any roles agreed
between the Nurse Manager and the Doctors as appropriate having regard to
current training.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Undertake

HEALTH AND SAFETY
The
post-holder will implement and lead on a full range of promotion and management of their own and others health and safety and infection control as defined in the

and the Practice Infection Control Policy and Published procedures. This will include (but will not be limited
to):
- Using personal
security systems within the workplace according to Practice guidelines

collection, labelling, handling, use of correct and clean containers,

Essential
- Registered General Nurse / Registered Nurse Diploma / Degree in Nursing

- Previous Primary care experience is highly desirable

- Full UK Driving Licence with access to own vehicle is essential for this role as clinics are across two sites
