An exciting 6 month secondment opportunity has arisen to develop a new Integrated Care Provider strategy for Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire (BNSSG).

The purpose of the role is to bring together existing work and projects into a single care provider strategy to reflect how the BNSSG integrated health and care system will achieve the objectives from national priorities e.g. Enhanced Health in Care homes (EHCH)HCH.

It will also identify future developments and opportunities in line with national plans and projects

The post holder will have the opportunity to work with multiple stakeholders including care homes, care home representative groups, care providers, Local Authorities, GPs, One Care, Sirona, Acute Hospitals, Voluntary Community and Social Enterprise organisations and the Integrated Care Board.

We are looking for someone who has a good understanding of the social care and health sector and the challenges . The successful applicant will also have excellent engagement and communication skills, to ensure a collaborative approach to the strategy development. Working across multiple organisations and sectors, the post holder will develop a comprehensive strategy with clearly identified priorities which reflects the existing work already underway and provides a collaborative platform to take forward new initiatives.

The post holder will be employed by Sirona care and health but will work collaboratively across the health and social care system.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for working with a wide group of stakeholders to develop a BNSSG Care Provider Strategy. They will set up and organise a steering group of stakeholders to oversee this work which will involve running workshops and collaborative events to ensure wide engagement and input. They will ensure that the strategy captures existing initiatives already underway and provides a collaborative framework for taking forward new initiatives and ideas relevant to care provision. The role will also involve developing a project plan and appropriate project documentation as well as providing progress reports through to system wide groups for assurance.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to masters level or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in specialist area.

Desirable

  • Professional qualification in health or social care

Experience

Essential

  • Knowledge of the Care Home/ Care provider landscape including current issues and challenges
  • Experience of working with cross system boundaries to develop integrated strategies An understanding of how to collaborate and the added value of the VCSE sector
  • Have an appreciation of the relationship between individual provider and commissioning organisations.
  • Have an understanding of the background to and aims of current health and social care policy and appreciate the implications of this e.g. Enhanced Health in Care Homes Framework, Live Longer Better Programme
  • Ability to make decisions autonomously, when required, on difficult and contentious issues where there may be a number of courses of action, working to tight and often changing timescales
